When spending time in Bangkok with kids, there are plenty of things to do during the day. The weather is nice, and sunny, so it’s a great time to enjoy some outdoor spaces for kids to make the most of the sunshine.
I have compiled a few different lists on my blog about what to do with kids, but here is a list of places to visit with your children if you want to spend some time outdoors:
1. Sansiri Backyard
This adorable, little outdoor community garden is fun for all ages. A quaint little space that has gardens with fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs that anyone can take home with them when they have been harvested. There are animals to see and feed such as goats, sheep, ducks, fish, and butterflies. You can grab a snack or drink at the small kiosk set up. Our daughter enjoyed being up close with the goat and playing in the sandpit. Location | Website | Price: Free
2. Lumphini Park
Lumphini Park is one of the most well-known and popular parks in Bangkok. It boasts large, green trees, a large pond, a playground, and a paved path. We used the playground there a handful of times, but the most fun we had while visiting was going on the paddle swan boat ride on the pond. Our daughter had a blast looking out while her mom and dad did all of the work. She was happy to wave at other swan drivers passing by and did not seem to mind wearing a large life jacket while on the journey. Location | Website | Price: Free
3. Children’s Discovery Museum
This attraction has a large outdoor portion and is another free attraction that is worth visiting. The outdoor space has spring riding cars, monkey bars, ropes and a wood playground, as well as a splash pad. Some of the areas have sessions that run at certain times, but there is always something to do if a session isn’t running. For safety purposes, each adult and child is also given a rubber wristband for entry and exit. Location | Website | Price: Free
4. Benchasiri Park
A beautiful park in the heart of Bangkok, this park has lots to offer for young and old alike. There are two playgrounds, one on either side of the park. There is a paved path on the outskirts of the park for those who wish to run or walk. At the back of the park, there are courts for basketball, volleyball, and footvol. Along with a skateboard park with ramps and bars to practice jumps. Lastly, in the centre of the park is a large pond, filled with fish and turtles. Many people enjoy feeding fish and turtles bread, fruits, and other fish snacks on a regular basis. Location | Website | Price: Free
5. Get Growing Farm
Located in The Lungs of Bangkok (or Bang Kachao), this amazing community farm has animals children can visit such as ducks, turtles, pigs, goats, chickens, and an ostrich. There is a small cafe are to grab some drinks and snacks. And the best part is the amazing outdoor play structure. The play structure has a large wooden trojan horse, low ropes, and climbing structures for kids of varying ages. Location | Website | Price: $20CAD (kids under 3 free)
Many of these outdoor places are a great way to have a bit of fun while travelling through Bangkok on a budget. Most of these places are either free or can be accessed for a low cost.
